As you read blog comments, I’m sure you’ve noticed various custom images identifying the commentator. These images are custom logos that usually says something about the author’s personality… these are Gravatars. More simply put, a Gravatar is a globally recognized Avatar which is just an 80×80 pixel image. There are a number of reasons why you need a Gravatar but I will list only five.
